Whether you take a minimal approach when it comes to a beauty routine, or sample whatever skincare and makeup tips you can get, one thing remains universal - we all want to know best practices for healthy skin and radiantness.
From applying sunscreen every day to hydrating, keep scrolling for more skincare tips that most women are unaware of.
Tip # 1: Always double cleanse your skin
Double cleansing is our favorite Korean beauty technique and it has completely transformed our skin. By cleansing twice, you will ensure that you remove all the dirt, bacteria, oil and contamination that accumulates on your skin during the day, leaving you with a completely clean foundation so that you can apply your skincare routine during the evening.
Tip # 2: Sunscreen is EVERYTHING
If there is one thing that literally ALL dermis tell us; is the importance of wearing sunscreen on a daily basis to help protect your skin from sun damage. 90% of how your skin ages is under your control and is directly related to sun exposure. So, even on cloudy winter days, protect your skin with a sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher and a 5-star UVA rating. Just apply sunscreen every day and your skin will thank you.
Tip # 3: Switch Up Your Skincare Routine Throughout The Year
The weather is another external factor that can wreak havoc on your skin. Just think about it: During the winter, the combination of low temperatures outside and increased heating inside can seriously dry out your skin. While in summer, it faces humidity, sun exposure and rising temperatures; causing oily skin, dark spots and even sun damage. That is why it is essential to combat contrary temperatures with different formulas and ingredients throughout the year.
Tip # 4: Eat and Drink While Thinking About Your Skin
No matter how many miracle products you apply on your face, if your diet isn’t the greatest, your skin won't bring its best game. To get that glow, you need to supply your body with beauty-boosting vitamins and minerals, and the right nutrients to strengthen your gut. Similarly, there are some foods to avoid if you are chewing with your skin in mind. You should also make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day (it is obvious skin care) and should aim to consume at least 2 liters a day).
Tip # 5: Avoid Poking Your Pimples
As tempting as it is to pop a pimple, try to resist the urge as it will most likely spread the bacteria and could even leave a scar. Also, while it may appear that you have disinfected the area and cleaned the pimple, there is so much going on inside your skin that you cannot see, and it is this bacteria that will spread.
Tip # 5: Wet Your Face for Better Absorption
For many, a quick wash, pat dry with the closest towel within reach is the usual routine. However, dermatologists and beauty gurus alike have agreed that skin is more absorbent when wet. Does this mean leaving your face soaked after that morning wash? Not exactly. However, a little bit of moisture can act as a nutrient magnet and is an essential first step to healthy skin!
