Thus, they are dirty. Your hands may be covered in bacteria and dirt particles. Those can get under the skin.
It may make it all worst for the pimple. Worsen the inflammation.
Do be careful about home remedies
Home remedies can seem like a great way to remove pimples fast. They are free, accessible, easy to use. However, are they always a good idea?
Simply put, no.
Take toothpaste for example. It contains ingredients like alcohol and baking soda. Which are great to dry up a pimple.
Unfortunately, it also contains other ingredients that aren’t intended to be put directly on your face. You may irritate your skin in the process.
The same goes for tea tree oil, aspirin and ice cubes. They are sold as amazing remedies but can have side-effects.
Do not squeeze or pop pimples
I do not know about you but when I see a pimple I just want to pop it. Squeeze it and remove it. Well, bad idea.
We've covered that earlier. Do not touch your face. Do not let your fingers anywhere near close the pimple. It is all gonna make it worse.
Picking at pimples increase healing time. They are also more likely to scare. At the end of the day, touching your face will inevitably cause more harm that good.
Do apply a warm compress
Do you know what really helps healing? Heat. A super simple way to sooth your skin. Especially if you feel a pimple is popping up.
You can do two things. Other steam your find to bring everything to the surface. Or apply a warm compress on your skin.
Alternatively, even cold compresses can work. They bring down the swelling of a particularly large and painful blemish.
Do not overdry the affected area
Do you have oily or mixed skin? It may be tempting to dry the area. And remove the excess oil. However, it is a bad idea.
Thinking on it, the problem is not the chemical you use. It is the amount you use. Take salicylic or glycolic acid for example.
People think more is better. However, it can get to the point that the active ingredient irritates the skin. Thus, it can make the skin scaly, flaky and red.
A lower concentration of the active ingredients prevents irritation. Ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide should not have a concentration above 2.5%.
Do use a spot treatment
There are a few things you can do to help get rid of pimples fast. First, always wash off your makeup at night. Second, use the right moisturizer for your skin type.
Then, of course, keep your fingers away from your face. Finally, using a spot treatment can really help.
Look out for the following ingredients:
- Benzoyl peroxide to kill acne causing bacteria.
- Salicylic acid to help exfoliate and unclog pores.
- Retinoids to help boost cell turnover.
Retinoids will also help cell shedding which will help prevent them from clogging.
Of course, even with the right spot treatment, pimples won't go in just five minutes. You may see improvements within the hour however.
Do not wear pore-clogging makeup
Your skin looked perfect. And now it is flaring up. It may be tempting to cover it all up with makeup. But that would be a bit mistake. Especially one acne prone skin.
Indeed, beauty products are one common cause of adult acne. Thus, they won't help make pimples disappear.

Do wash your face regularly
The thing with skin care is to find a balance. Too much of everything is never good. Especially when combines with external elements.
Your oils glands are active all day. The oil combined with dirt, makeup and pollution will clog pores. And stimulate pimple breakouts.
You must be extra careful if you work out. Sweat, dirt and oil stay trapped under wet workout clothing. This can worsen a breakout.
Make sure you clean your face after a work out. As well as in the morning and before bed. Avoid body soaps. They will irritate the skin.
There are plenty of ways to treat pimples. And to improve prevention. At the end of the day, it mostly comes down to you not touching your face.
