How to Take Care of Sensitive Skin
Frequent sunburns, persistent rashes and breakouts, or peeling and itching. Sounds familiar? Sensitive skin requires some extra love, care, and protection. It can be extremely difficult to feel healthy when you have skin discomfort, and many others have shared the same experience.
One of the most challenging skin types to care for is sensitive skin. This is because sensitive skin can be very allergic to some products, especially those that contain harsh ingredients. We’d like to share some tips on how to take care of your sensitive skin.
Use gentle cleansers
The ideal type of facial cleanser is one that maintains the skin's natural moisture, doing its job of removing dirt, makeup, and excess oil, without drying out the skin. Cleaning your face at least once in the morning and once at night should do the trick.
Moisturize
When helping to make your skin feel good, moisturizers can improve hydration, reduce discomfort, and help restore your skin's natural moisture barrier. Applying sunscreen has also been shown to actively help sensitive skin.
Avoid triggers & harsh exfoliators
Be aware of what could be causing your sensitive skin to flare up. Perhaps it was that new perfume, that new sweater you bought, or too much time in the sun. Paying attention to the causes of your specific breakouts on your sensitive skin allows you to plan properly.
When skin acts up, it’s best to listen and find out what method works best for your skin. Regardless of the products you use, it's important to create a regular skincare routine that works for you, your lifestyle, and your sensitive skin.
