What is chin laser hair removal?
Chin hair removal is a very popular treatment amongst women. The chin is such
a small area, it can be done on your lunch break. Your session will be done in ten minutes max.
Chin laser hair removal will permanently remove unwanted facial hair. The area is small and easy to cover. The treatment will not remove peach fuzz or very fine hair.
The chin covers the area directly above below the lower lip. It doesn’t cover the extended chin. The chin is a hormonal area. This means that the hair is more darker, thicker and more resistant. Thus, you may need more sessions.
Because the area is sensitive, we recommend that you apply aloe vera gel after your session. This will soothe the skin.
At Infinity Laser Spa, we also offer a full face laser hair removal treatment as well as a lower lip treatment.
How does it work?
Laser hair removal is a
FDA approved hair removal technique. The laser produces a beam of light energy that targets hair pigments. The melanin in the hair absorbs the energy. Then, the energy is sent to the hair follicle.
The energy turns into heat and damages the follicle. Any further hair growth is thus prevented. At Infinity Laser Spa, we use diode lasers from Soprano Ice Platinum and Vertex Lasers.
Our spa uses machines that are suitable for all skin tones and hair colors. The 755nm wavelength targets fair hair on light skin. The 810nm wavelength treats dark hair on light skin. Finally, the 1064nm wavelength is suitable for dark hair on dark skin.
What factors can impact my chin laser treatment?
There are
a few factors that can impact the results of your chin laser treatment.
Laser hair removal works on all skin tones and complexions. However, the success of the treatment relies on the skin-to-hair contrast. Thus, it can be trickier to treat dark hair on dark skin or fair hair on light skin.
People of color or with white skin and blonde hair may need more sessions to ensure all the hair is targeted effectively.
Genetics can also play a role. The hair growth cycle too. If you have a strong hair growth, you may need more sessions. As hormones trigger hair growth, high hormone levels may interfere with your treatment too.
The face is a very hormonal area. Thus, the hair is thicker, darker and grows faster. You may need additional sessions as a result.
Your previous hair growth history will also have an impact. Did you use to wax? If so, know that waxing reduces hair growth in the long-term. Thus, you may have already started the process and have less hair to target.
How do I prepare for a session?
Chin laser hair removal is quite straightforward. It is a fast and convenient way to remove hairs. You can check out our
tips to prepare for your session.
Avoid exposure to direct sun light. Do not use tanning beds and intense UV ray treatments. Indeed, artificial tanning puts the skin into an excited state that can interfere with your treatment.
Some medications can increase sensitivity to the light. This will make the chin laser treatment more painful. That is why you need tell your certified laser technician of your medical history before your session.
Clean your skin of lotions, creams, moisturizers, scented fragrances and makeup. Finally, you need to shave the night before or at lest three hours prior to your session.
When can I expect results?
Laser hair removal is a long-term hair growth reduction method. Yet, that does not mean you will not see results early on. Indeed, each session treats 20% of hair. That is why you can expect a 20% hair growth reduction after each session.
You will start to see your hair shed a week after your session. By the third session, at least 50% of body hair will be gone. The success of your chin laser hair removal treatment depends on consistency.
This means you must book each session six weeks apart. If you do not follow a strict schedule, you will interfere with the efficacy of the treatment. Therefore results may be delayed.
